At least 21 people detained at Navalny's commemorations

In different Russian regions, including North Ossetia, at least 21 people were detained because of Alexei Navalny's funeral, human rights defenders have reported. According to their stories, about half of the detainees had tried to get to the farewell ceremony held in Moscow.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that several people heading to the farewell venue for Navalny in Moscow were detained by law enforcers. The queue to the temple where the coffin with his body was delivered reached over a kilometre.

Human rights defenders have reported that one detention was recorded in North Ossetia. It is known that at least 10 people were detained in Voronezh, five in the Novosibirsk Region, two in Moscow, and one each in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Tatarstan, North Ossetia and Buryatia.

Let us note here that after Navalny's funeral service in the church, the gathered people went on foot to the cemetery. The marchers chanted slogans in Alexei's memory and criticized Russian authorities.
