Doku Umarov's associate murdered in Chechnya
In the course of an operation conducted in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, Rustam Vichigov, an associate of Doku Umarov, one of the leaders of Chechen militants, was killed. Two militiamen were wounded.
The Radio Liberty is also reporting that three persons were detained in the Vedeno District of Chechnya on suspicion of their links with militants. Their names are not disclosed.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has informed earlier that a militant was killed in the Oktiabrskiy District of Grozny by employees of power agencies who tried to detain him. A source in the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs had provided this information and asserted that the militant rendered armed resistance at detention, but nobody of the participants in the special operation had suffered. The personality of the victim had been established, he was a resident of the Sunzha District.
