Russian Ombudsperson comments on beating by Kadyrov’s son of Volgograd resident who burned Koran

When commenting on the beating by a son of the leader of Chechnya of Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested in a case on burning Koran, Russian Ombudsperson Tatiana Moskalkova has declared that a person who has broken the law should be brought to court to answer for his or her actions, and that person should be kept in a SIZO (pre-trial prison) in accordance with the established regulations.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported Ksenia Sobak claimed that after she wrote posts reporting that Adam Kadyrov, a son of Ramzan Kadyrov, beat Nikita Zhuravel in the SIZO, the leader of Chechnya called her and warned her not to write about members of his family.

“No matter what terrible crime a person commits, he or she must answer for it before the court in accordance with the law. These are the principles of our rule-of-law state,” wrote Russian Ombudsperson Tatiana Moskalkova in her Telegram channel.

The destruction of sacred books, be it the Koran, the Bible or the Torah, offends the feelings of believers and is a socially dangerous act, the Russian Ombudsperson has noted. “Such actions sow ethnic hatred, intolerance, and enmity. Therefore, such actions may not remain unpunished,” emphasized Tatiana Moskalkova.

Let us remember that Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video of beating of Nikita Zhuravel and praised his son for the beating.
