Kadyrov praises his son for beating in SIZO a young man who burned Koran
Ramzan Kadyrov posted a video with beating of Nikita Zhuravel, who was arrested in Grozny in a case on burning of Koran. Nikita Zhuravel was beaten by Adam Kadyrov, wrote the leader of Chechnya and approved his son’s action.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on August 16, Russian Ombudsperson Tatiana Moskalkova reported that Nikita Zhuravel complained about being beaten by a son of the leader of Chechnya in the Grozny SIZO (pre-trial prison). Tatiana Moskalkova requested Mansur Soltaev, Ombudsperson in Chechnya, to conduct an inspection. He announced the need to involve the investigative authorities.
The action of Ramzan Kadyrov’s son was approved by the associates of the leader of Chechnya, including Adam Delimkhanov, Ramzan Kadyrov’s adviser and Russian State Duma member, Magomed Daudov, the speaker of the republic’s parliament, and Akhmed Dudaev, Chechen Minister of National Policy, External Relations, Press, and Information.
The leader of Chechnya has emphasized that “whoever encroaches on any Holy Scripture” must “suffer severe punishment.” “Without exaggeration, I am proud of Adam’s action. He has always been distinguished by the desire to grow not among his peers, but among older ones, thanks to which he forms adult ideals of honour, dignity, and defence of his religion,” wrote the leader of Chechnya in his post.
Let us remind you that Nikita Zhuravel, a resident of Volgograd, who recorded a video with the burning of Koran, was detained in Volgograd on May 20. On May 27, the young man was taken to the Grozny SIZO.
Earlier, lawyers have noted that the investigators’ decision to transfer Nikita Zhuravel’s case to Chechnya not only contradicts the law, but also creates a risk of torture for the Volgograd resident and a threat to his life.
