Nalchik resident convicted of discrediting Russian Army

Batyr Zhaboev from Nalchik, charged under the criminal article on discrediting the Russian Army after his posts in a social network, has been sentenced to a year of conditional imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 13, 2023, investigators opened a defamation case against the 36-year-old Batyr Zhaboev. He was under recognizance not to leave the place.

Now, the Nalchik City Court has found Zhaboev guilty, reports the "KBR Patriot" Telegram channel.

In April 2022, an administrative protocol was drawn up against Zhaboev under the discrediting article. According to investigators, he had posted a video in social networks about civilian casualties during the Chechen campaigns and the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine.
