"Important Stories"* tell about financing Special Forces University in Gudermes
The Russian Special Forces University located in the Chechen city Gudermes, which has become one of the training centres for fighters to participate in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, is funded by Chechen businessman Movsadi Alviev, the "Important Stories"* have informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2022, the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes, where volunteers are trained to be sent to Ukraine, tripled its revenues. It follows from the report published by the tax service. Voluntary donations of 349 million roubles are reported as the university's only source of income in 2022.
The "Important Stories"* have told about the peculiarities of the work of the above University and of the financing thereof. According to the outlet, the idea of creating a special forces training centre belongs to the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, where both special forces officers and civilians, such as security guards and personal drivers, were retrained. Since the start of the SMO in Ukraine, the university has focused on recruiting volunteers.
The Grozny Mayoralty has reported that specialists from the Russian University of Special Forces were training volunteers for 10 days, after which fighters are sent to Ukraine. Military experts treated such a period of training as insufficient.
According to one of the volunteers, it is not difficult to enter the university; it is enough just to come to the Grozny Mayoralty and say: "I am a volunteer."
According to the "Important Stories"*, the training centre was built in the land leased by a company associated with the Chechen businessman, Movsadi Alviev, one of the sponsors of the Akhmad Kadyrov Fund and Kadyrov's business partner. His company "Grozny City" owns the skyscrapers in the capital of Chechnya.
*On August 20, 2021, the Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) put the legal entity "Istories fonds", registered in Latvia and publishing the "Important Stories", into the register of the media-foreign agents.
