Officials ignore complaints from residents of Ingush village of Zyazikov-Yurt about damage caused by CTO
None of the officials examined the houses of residents of the Zyazikov-Yurt village, which were damaged during a shootout between law enforcers and suspected militants on April 5. The villagers were hiding in cellars of their houses during all night, an owner of one of the damaged houses said.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 5, during a counterterrorist operation (CTO), law enforcers discovered a grouping of suspected militants in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt. Three policemen were killed in the shootout, and eight others were wounded, while the suspected militants fled. The house where they were hiding was riddled with bullets. A neighbouring house was also severely damaged, and its owner hopes for help from the authorities in restoring her house.
Officials from the administration of the Malgobek District of Ingushetia did not inspect the damaged houses in the village of Zyazikov-Yurt, although more than a week had passed since the armed clash in the village, noted Akhmed, an owner of one of the damaged houses.
The man himself estimates the damage to his house at no less than 100,000 roubles. Furthermore, Akhmed notes that members of his family experienced severe stress.
“No one promised us help in restoring damaged housing, although such a situation arose through no fault of ours ... All the neighbours had their children at home, and no one was evacuated,” the man said. He added that damage was also inflicted to other neighbours’ houses.
Akhmed emphasizes that the CTO legal regime in the Zyazikov-Yurt village has not yet been cancelled. According to the man, such a special operation is taking place in his village for the first time.
