Court refuses to consider mobilization complaints lodged by Dagestani fathers of large families

The Makhachkala Garrison Military Court has refused to consider the lawsuits against illegal mobilization lodged by four fathers with many children, citing the lack of powers of attorney from the mobilized fathers themselves.

The servicemen won't be able to break their contracts until the end of mobilization; however, it is not known for what period it was announced, lawyers have noted.

On October 13, 2022, Andrei Kartapolov, the chairman of the State Duma Defence Committee, explained that a decision had been made to defer mobilization for fathers who have three or more dependent children under 16 years old. According to his story, this is stated in documents for official use, which have not been published anywhere.

According to the "Kavkaz.Realii"* project, Umar Shikhmaisurov, a military serviceman from Izberbash, was mobilized on September 22, 2022, although he has three small children.

On September 26, Murad Abdurakhmanov, resident of Kizlyar having a large family, was also mobilized. The court would not consider the lawsuits filed on behalf of the relatives of the mobilized Saiputdi Salakhov from the Buynaksk District and Rinat Ismailov from the Babayurt District. The latter lawsuit stated that Ismailov was unfit for military service.

Let us remind you that in Dagestan, mothers of many children treated their husbands' mobilization as unfair. They said that the two of the men, the only breadwinners for families with three children, were sent to participate in the special military operation (SMO) in Ukraine, and attempts to challenge their mobilization were unsuccessful.
