Kadyrov reports attempt to poison Alautdinov
Apti Alaudinov, the commander of the "Akhmat" special unit, and two adjutants have been hospitalized in a Moscow clinic after their contact with an envelope soaked in a poisonous substance, Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 3, 2022, Kadyrov said that after resigning from the post of the Secretary of the Security Council of Chechnya, Apti Alaudinov received the rank of major general and took the post of deputy commander of the army corps of the People's Militia of the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), while retaining the position of assistant to the head of Chechnya. Alaudinov's appointment was an element of Kadyrov's strategy, analysts have suggested.
As reported by Kadyrov in his Telegram channel, on February 8, Alaudinov's adjutant received an envelope with a message. It turned out that the letter was soaked in some poisonous substance. "He realized this by the caustic specific smell and took timely measures: he washed his hands and the nasal cavity. Another Alaudinov's adjutant, who also was in contact with the envelope, did the same," the head of Chechnya has explained.
Alaudinov and both adjutants are in a Moscow clinic and are on the mend. According to Kadyrov, an inquiry into the assassination attempt is underway.
