In Stavropol Territory, CTO regime introduced for the first time in five years
The previous counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Stavropol Territory back in December 2017; now it has been announcement in the Petrovsky Farm located in the Territory.
On February 8, the Russian FSB (Federal Security Service) reported on the introduction of the CTO regime in the Petrovsky Farm in the Stavropol Territory. The aim of the CTO was declared as terror act prevention.
According to the "Caucasian Knot", the CTO regime was last announced in the Stavropol Territory on December 9, 2017. Then, three militants were killed; they were identified as natives of Chechnya, Dagestan and the Stavropol Territory.
Prior to this, the CTO regime was introduced on April 11, 2016, in the Novoselitsky District of the Stavropol Territory, when three men attacked a police department. According to investigators, one of the attackers blew him up, and two others were shot dead.
In 2021, no casualties, incidents or explosions were recorded in the Stavropol Territory. In 2020, at least one person, a suspected militant, became a victim of the armed conflict in the region. A year earlier, one armed incident was also recorded in the Stavropol Territory with two liquidated alleged militants.
The materials with estimates of the victims of the armed conflict in the regions of Northern Caucasus are placed in the Section "Northern Caucasus – statistics of victims" of the "Caucasian Knot".
