Man from Makhachkala accused of shooting surrenders to law enforcers
Arsen Magomedov, a resident of Makhachkala, has appeared at the police, handed over his firearm and confessed to opening fire on a human. The court has placed him under house arrest.
On January 20, in Makhachkala, two men started a conflict; one of them shot at his opponent and escaped with the help of the 35-year-old Kurban Dalgatov. Later, law enforcers found Dalgatov, took him to the police station, and he died. His relatives suspected that he died of asphyxiation after being tortured with electric current. The Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed that the man had received traumas before his death.
Dalgatov’s death sparked resonance in Dagestan, where authorities and residents were called by Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan, to support his family. Social media users have recalled that those responsible for the death of the Gasanguseinov brothers are still unpunished.
The 40-year-old Arsen Magomedov, a party of the above conflict in Makhachkala, who, according to investigators, has fled the venue, came to the police, handed over his firearm and told about the crime that he had allegedly committed.
The court took into account that Magomedov has four children, three of them are minors, one child is disabled, and his parents are disabled too. As a result, the court didn’t place Magomedov into custody, as investigators demanded, but placed him under house arrest until March 21.
