Opposition offers creating interim government after Pashinyan's removal from power
At a rally held in Yerevan, the opposition has suggested to set up an interim government after Nikol Pashinyan's power is overthrown.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, the Armenian opposition has been holding rallies, marches and motor rallies, demanding not to admit a change of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and resignation of Nikol Pashinyan's government.
On May 9, the opposition held a rally-march, where plans were announced after the removal of Nikol Pashinyan from power. According to the estimates based on the aerial photographs made by the Union of Informed Citizens, the rally held in France Square in Yerevan was about 7700 strong. Robert Kocharyan, the second President of Armenia, took part in the rally.
In his speech, Ishkhan Sagatelyan, a Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament from the "Aiastan" oppositional faction and a member of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun", stressed the need to remove the incumbent government "because of its anti-national policy due to which Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia's independence are under threat."
He presented an action plan after Nikol Pashinyan's removal from power. According to his version, the opposition will create an interim government that will modernize the united security system of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, reduce the powers of the prime minister and strengthen the diplomatic corps. After the stabilization of the situation in the country, new elections will be held.
