Analysts assess potentials of protest movement in Armenia
The Armenian protest movement has the potentials capable to paralyze the state ruling, but the organizers are using them incorrectly, experts believe.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 25, protest actions have been held in Armenia demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan; the actions are accompanied by detentions.
The protest movement in Armenia has enjoyed sufficient support to launch actions that could cause power paralysis, Andrias Gukasyan, a political analyst, has stated. However, according to his version, the organizers repeat the technologies of 2018, which is wrong.
The goal of today's actions is to block the central administrative building, from where the country is governed, the political analyst has pointed out. According to his story, an attempt to benefit from law enforcers' unreasonable cruelty is also a wrong strategy.
Armen Badalyan, a political technologist, has noted that the Armenian police are acting very harshly; and this may contribute to the growth in the number of protest supporters. At the same time, there is no visible leader who can claim to come to power.
Mr Badalyan has admitted that if the opposition fails to expand the scale of its protests, they will go down.
Naira Airumyan, a political observer, has stated that she sees no mass protest actions. In her opinion, someone is simply spinning the events, while the outcome of the confrontation in Armenia will depend on the outcomes of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
