Russian journalist demands from law enforcers to leave her 93-year-old mother alone

Svetlana Anokhina, a journalist, who has left Dagestan because of threats, reports about law enforcers' visit to the house where her elderly mother lives. They asked her about Svetlana's posts about events in Ukraine.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, 2021, law enforcers took Khalimat Taramova, who was hiding in the Makhachkala shelter for victims of domestic violence, to her relatives in Chechnya. Svetlana Anokhina and volunteers of the "Marem" project were detained in the shelter and accused of resisting the police; later, all the detainees were acquitted by the Makhachkala court.

On April 11, Svetlana Anokhina, a journalist and human rights defender from Dagestan, who emigrated a little less than a year ago after the events in the Makhachkala shelter, reported about law enforcers' visit to her home, the "Sota" Telegram channel informs.

According to Anokhina, law enforcers asked her mother about Svetlana's posts on events in Ukraine placed in social networks.

"They came to my mother's house, showed a piece of paper and a printout with my 'wrong' post <...> I don't understand a few things. Why didn't they like just one post? What did they want to hear from my 93-year-old mother? <.. .> They can still conduct a search!" Svetlana Anokhina wrote in social networks.
