Marine from Dagestan dies in Ukraine

A company commander, Sakhib Turabov, a native of the Tabasaran District of Dagestan, was buried on March 18 in his native village. Since the start of the military operation in Ukraine, the deaths of at least 33 natives of Dagestan have become known.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that it is running a list of the natives of Southern Russia who have perished during the military operation in Ukraine. The list is based on the data officially confirmed by district administrations. As of 5:00 p.m. Moscow time on March 18, the deaths of at least 126 natives of Southern Russia, including 82 natives of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), had been officially confirmed.

On March 18, Magomed Kurbanov, the head of the district administration, announced the death of the ensign, Sakhib Turabov, a native of the Tabasaran District.

Sakhib was born in the village of Maraga, Tabasaran District; on March 8, he turned 37. Since 2011, he served under contract in the Marine Corps in one of the units of the Caspian Flotilla as a company commander. "He left behind his wife and three children," the head of the district said, adding that on March 18 his native village said farewell to the military.

Thus, by 5:00 p.m. Moscow time on March 18, at least 33 natives of Dagestan had perished since the start of the military operation in Ukraine.
