Protesters in Georgian cities express support for Ukraine

Actions were held in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Zugdidi, where the participants demanded to stop hostilities in the territory of Ukraine, where, in their opinion, the fate of Georgia and Europe is also being decided.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that rallies in support of Ukraine are held in Georgia every day; the participants thereof also demand the resignation of the Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, for his refusal to support sanctions against Russia.

On February 27, another action in support of Ukraine was held in front of the Georgian parliament building in Tbilisi. Its participants held flags of Georgia and Ukraine in their hands.

"We'll support the people of Ukraine. Now in Ukraine, not only its fate, but also the fate of Georgia and all of Europe is being decided," Beso Shengeliya, a member of the United National Movement (UNM) Party, told reporters.

"Georgians have shown that we must support our brothers-Ukrainians. But our government hid at this critical moment in history," said Beso Gegeliya, a member of the "Lelo" Party.
