Two natives of Chechnya have been detained in a case on an attack in Nazran on Sarazhdin Sultygov, the co-chair of the “Mekh-Kkhel” public organization. An attacker himself, a former OMON (riot police) fighter, has been put on the wanted list, a source reports.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on January 31, Sarazhdin Sultygov, the co-chair of the “Mekh-Kkhel” public organization, complained to the police about the attack on him in his apartment in Nazran.
According to Sarazhdin Sultygov, after he opened the door of the apartment, one of the visitors hit him, and the second filmed the attack on the mobile phone. “They just hit me in the face and ran away,” Sarazhdin Sultygov said. He added that the attackers left in a car bearing state registration number with region code corresponded to Chechnya.
Officers of the criminal investigation department, together with their colleagues from the temporary task force of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), have identified three suspects in the attack on Sarazhdin Sultygov, an informed source reports today.
According to the source, former OMON (riot police) fighter Zurab Idigov is suspected of the attack on Sarazhdin Sultygov. Together with Zurab Idigov, two natives of Chechnya stayed near the Sarazhdin Sultygov’s apartment, and one of them filmed what was happening on his mobile phone. The suspects were detained and taken to a SIZO (pre-trial prison), but Zurab Idigov, who is suspected under Article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (beatings), was not at home, and the Ingush law enforcement bodies began searching for him, the “Interfax” reports.
