After shelling, parents refuse to bring children to kindergarten in Red Bazar

On the following day after the shelling, the kindergarten of the village community of Karmir Shouka (Red Bazar) in the Martuni District of Nagorno-Karabakh announced the resumption of its work, but parents wouldn't bring their children there, fearing for the kids' safety. After intensive shelling, villagers of Nakhichevanik, Askeran District, have suspended their agricultural works.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 10, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported about the shelling conducted by Azerbaijani militaries in the direction of the village of Karmir Shouka (Red Bazar) of the Martuni District, as a result of which a civilian's car parked near the kindergarten caught fire. The Azerbaijani MoD refuted this statement. Azerbaijani militaries also shelled the firefighters in the village of Karmir Shouka, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported.

On January 11, all the workers of the above kindergarten were in their places, but parents refused to bring their children, said Armeta Sargsyan, the director of the village kindergarten.

The mother of the four-year-old Armine from the Karmir Shouka community decided not to take her daughter to the kindergarten for a couple of days, as "she was very scared yesterday." "We're almost accustomed to the fact that shots are heard in the direction of the village. But on January 10, the shelling was intense, and for the first time they fired in the direction of the kindergarten. I hope Russian peacemakers will solve this problem," said the mother.

On January 7-9, there were several shelling episodes at the villages of Karmir Shouka and Tagavard from the Azerbaijani side, but on January 10, the fire was intense and targeted, said Amik Kocharyan, a Tagavard villager, adding that he has two children; and he doesn't allow them to go far from home.
