Power officials in Chechnya ask Kadyrov to close ORB-2 down

Heads of Chechen law enforcement bodies and power agencies structures have decided to ask Ramzan Kadyrov, Republic's leader, to initiate liquidation of the Operative-Search Bureau-2 (ORB-2) located in the capital of the Republic.

The leadership of Chechnya is concerned of the continuing use of unlawful investigation methods and tortures in relation to detainees, the "Cazeta.Ru" reports.

Ibrahim Khultygov, Chairman of one of the Parliamentary Committees, has stated that "this situation with use of tortures in the territory of the Chechen Republic can result in a social earthquake with unpredictable consequences."

Adam Delimkhanov, First Deputy Premier of Chechnya, has declared that "only through the efforts of Republic's leadership it will be possible to avoid a splash of mass discontent of the population with use of tortures and illegal investigation methods."
