Sultygov takes Daudov's threats seriously

The fate of a number of Kadyrov's critics in Europe does not allow ignoring threats pronounced by Magomed Daudov, the Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, Sarazhdin Sultygov, a co-chairman of the NGO "Mekkh-Khel", has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sarazhdin Sultygov, a co-chairman of the "Mekkh-Khel", had harshly criticized Ramzan Kadyrov for the latter's statements about the Chechen-Ingush border. Later, information appeared on the Web about the preparation of an attempt on the life of Sultygov and other Ingush activists who had criticized the head of Chechnya.

Sarazhdin Sultygov has stated that he takes seriously the threats of Magomed Daudov, the Speaker.

"Do you really think that if they send people to Europe to kill their opponents, we shouldn't take it seriously? On the other hand, we are still at home, and if needed, I think we'll be able to fight back," Mr Sultygov has declared.

In his turn, Magomed Aushev, a lawyer, treats Daudov's threats as unserious. "He doesn't make decisions. There is one person who makes them; and I'm not sure that he really wants someone to be killed here. Those who were killed and who were attempted in Europe were Ramzan Kadyrov's personal enemies; while the 'Mekkh-Khel' is an NGO supported by many people. Moreover, this is not the first threat. We, so to say, are accustomed to constantly pronounced threats," Ms Aushev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
