In September 2021, two persons were killed during armed conflict in Northern Caucasus
In September 2021, during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus, two people were killed; no information about the wounded ones was reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.
Early in the morning on September 10, in connection with information about militants' movements, the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Buinaksk District of Dagestan. The CTO was held in a forest near the village of Talgi; and many militaries were deployed in the village itself, local residents said. The Russian National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) reported that law enforcers had killed two militants, who opened fire in response to a demand to surrender. According to sources, those killed in the CTO were identified as Urudj Ramazanov and Eiruz Abdulaev.
The CTO regime in the Buinaksk District was lifted the next day. The official version about the reasons for the introduction thereof had raised doubts among Instagram users, who noted that the condition of the articles shown in the video about the CTO, which, according to law enforcers, had belonged to the killed militants, failed to meet the conditions of staying in the forest.
The statistics cited cannot accurately reflect the number of victims. Not all the data gets into news bulletins. It is not always possible to check how true the statements of law enforcement bodies are; and new data on the events that happened during the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of statistics on the "Caucasian Knot".
The CTO in the Buinaksk District became the second one in Dagestan since the start of the year. The previous one was held on March 11, 2021, in Makhachkala.
In September 2021, no victims of the armed conflict were recorded in Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia-Alania, Stavropol Territory and Chechnya.
