"Georgian Dream" announces its victory at elections

Without waiting for the official results from the Central Election Commission (CEC), Irakli Garibashvili, the Georgian Prime Minister, has congratulated the members of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party on the victory at municipal elections.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 2, Georgia held elections of mayors and deputies of local governing assemblies.

Already in the evening o October 2, the Premier Garibashvili congratulated the party supporters on their eighth victory in a row. He treated it as "great."

"I also want to address our opponents that today we have ended the polarization in our country. Today, we have completed the epoch of hatred and lies; and from tomorrow on, the epoch of calmness, progress and stability should begin," Mr Garibashvili has stated.

In his turn, Nika Meliya, the chairman of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, has stated that the ruling party had lost the elections to the opposition at least in Tbilisi.
