Kadyrov set election world record

On September 26, the "InterRecord" Agency announced that at the 2021 election, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, set a new world record. "At elections of Russian regional leaders, the largest number of votes was won by Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya," reads a message posted on the Agency's Instagram page.

Kadyrov has become the world record holder by gaining 99.7% of votes cast for him," the "InterRecord" website gives the details.

Against their will, in Chechnya, teachers and doctors repeatedly voted at different polling stations, residents of the republic told the "Caucasian Knot" earlier, pointing out the passive attitude of many of their acquaintances to the elections. Before the voting day, rallies were held in different regions of Chechnya with the participation of state and civil servants, who urged residents of the republic to go to the polls. Not only state officials and employees of local governments had campaigned for Kadyrov, but also the clergymen. The participation of the latter in campaigning for Ramzan Kadyrov directly violates the federal law, but it is a long-standing and widespread practice in Chechnya, the analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have pointed out.
