Shamil Nurmagomedov receives tightened custody regime in Smolensk colony

Shamil Nurmagomedov, a native of Dagestan, who is serving his term for financing terrorism in a colony in the Smolensk Region, has been transferred from an isolation cell with strict custody conditions to a cell-type premise for five months. The reason for the punishment was the publicity of the data about the inmates' protest hunger strike, Nurmagomedov's father has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that ten prisoners of the Smolensk colony, including the natives of Dagestan, Akim Esretaliev, Gadjimurad Rasulov, Shamil Nurmagomedov and Karam Alakberov, a native of Azerbaijan, had sewed up their mouths in protest against regular bullying. On April 27, their relatives reported that some of the prisoners' demands had already been met, and they stopped their hunger strike.

On April 28, Shamil Nurmagomedov was transferred to a cell-type premise with a stricter custody regime, his father, Kazim Nurmagomedov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The father has explained that reason was in the information announced in the media about the protest action in the colony with sewn-up mouths and the hunger strike. "He was transferred to a cell-type premise for five months. There are two or three inmates in such cell; visiting them is prohibited. He has 1-1.5 hours a day for walking outdoors and spends the rest of the time in the cell," said the father.
