Wall Street Journal reports on Biden's plans to recognize Armenian Genocide

On April 24, US President Joe Biden intends to voice his attitude to the events of 1915, which the House of Representatives of the Congress had recognized as genocide, The Wall Street Journal has reported. More than 100 members of the Congress have called on Biden to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

At various times, 49 US states and the District of Columbia have recognized the Armenian Genocide. The only state that hasn't done so is Mississippi.

Biden is expected to call the deportation, famine and massacres committed by Ottoman Turks, starting from 1915, as Armenians Genocide. The Biden's statement should be made during his speech dedicated to the Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide. However, it is likely that he will confine himself to a symbolic speech, not calling the killings of Armenians as genocide, same as other US presidents did.

If Biden recognizes the Armenian Genocide, the interrelations of Turkey with the USA will worsen even more, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, has stated as the "Interfax" reports.

Let us remind you that more than 20 countries, including Russia, have recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. However, most countries of the world have not officially done it.
