Two residents of Azerbaijan detained for violating ban on visiting Karabakh
The residents of Azerbaijan, Zamir Akhmedov and Zamig Farzaliev, have penetrated into the territory of the Fizuli District to collect non-ferrous scrap metals. While trying to escape from law enforcers in a car, the driver ran into a policeman and two militaries, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers are detaining residents for violating the ban on visiting the territories of Nagorno-Karabakh that have gone under Azerbaijan's control, where hostilities broke out during the autumn conflict escalation. Thus, on April 3, three residents of the Gubadly District were detained for entering the non-demined territories.
The "Apa" news agency reports that policemen demanded from Akhmedov to stop his car, but he did not obey and hit a policeman and a military; they received leg traumas. Later, the car was found in the village of Kerimbeili.
Earlier, residents of the Terter District did not rule out looting attempts in Karabakh. Khalid Agaliev, an employee of the Civil Society Platform, has added that forced migrants are entering the battle areas willing to visit their small homeland. "Often they travel and take pictures and films in order to show them to their elderly relatives," he has explained.
