Residents of Syunik Region block road for opposition

In the Syunik Region, local residents came to a protest action. They believe that the opposition and, in particular, Vazgen Manukyan, are responsible for the current situation in Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 15, residents of the Shirak Region of Armenia went to a protest action against the opposition's actions.

In November 2020, after signing the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, protest actions began in Armenia. Supporters of the opposition are seeking resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, who had signed the agreement, from the post of head of the Cabinet (Premier).

Residents of the Syunik Region of Armenia blocked the road in order to prevent the passage of the opposition convoy, which had scheduled meetings in the Syunik Region. The road is open for other cars. The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the attitude of opposition leader Vazgen Manukyan towards the people.

During a conversation with Mikael Minasyan, an MP from the "Prosperous Armenia" faction, which was broadcast by the "AraratNews", local residents said that they were "unhappy with the Vazgen Manukyan's statements that offended their pride."

The activists blamed the opposition MPs for the situation. "The bodies of our deceased guys are still lying on the battlefield, and the opposition MPs are already fighting for the prime minister's seat. Shame on them," said one of the protesters.
