Bulldozer driver blown up by mine in Karabakh

An employee of the Azerbaijani road administration was injured after hitting an anti-tank mine with a bulldozer.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 1, Zabil Babaev, a 39-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan, illegally entered the non-mined territory of the Fizuli District and was blown up by a mine. He died in hospital after amputation of his legs. On January 12, an Azerbaijani car ran over a mine in the Gubadli District. A military man who travelled in the car was killed in the explosion, while the driver was severely injured.

On January 13, Aliyar Odjagverdiev, a resident of the Barda District of Azerbaijan, was blown up by an anti-tank mine when he was bulldozing a road to the bridge near the villages of Sugovushan and Talysh in the Terter District. The works were carried out on the territory that returned under the control of Baku after the autumn escalation of the Karabakh conflict, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reports.

According to the calculations run by the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office, in the period from September 27 to November 30, 93 Azerbaijani civilians were killed in missile attacks, and five persons were blown up by mines. 414 people were injured. Later, on December 13, in the territory of Agdam District, which came under the control of Azerbaijan, three persons were blown up by a mine. One of them, a civilian, was killed, while two others, including a military man, were injured.
