Nagorno-Karabakh rescuers could not start searching for casualties in Gadrut District
Employees of the Karabakh Emergency Service have removed the bodies of more than 1100 casualties from the conflict zone. Rescuers were forced to interrupt their work, since the Azerbaijani party did not allow searches in the Gadrut District.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the total number of soldiers' bodies found by Karabakh rescuers after the signing of the peace agreement reached 1069. The search for the dead is being conducted in the territories that passed under Azerbaijan's control after the signing of the armistice.
During the search for the dead, rescuers have already found 1111 bodies, said Unan Tadevosyan, head of the PR division of the above Service.
"Azerbaijan has refused to three groups of Karabakh rescuers in conducting searches and rescue operations in the Gadrut direction," Mr Tadevosyan has added. Rescuers were not allowed to move from the vicinity of the village of Shekher in the direction of the Gadrut District, he has stated, adding that there are suggestions that soldiers remained in the dwelling settlements that are now under the Azerbaijan's control.
