Peacekeepers report new stage of POW exchange between Armenia and Azerbaijan

Four prisoners of war (POWs) were transferred to Armenia and two POWs were returned to Azerbaijan, the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent reported. The total number of prisoners of war returned to Armenia reached 57, and to Azerbaijan – 14.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to exchange prisoners of war on the principle of "all for all." On December 14, 44 POWs were returned to Armenia, and on the same day, 12 Azerbaijani soldiers and two Azerbaijani citizens sentenced to imprisonment in Nagorno-Karabakh returned to Baku.

Azerbaijan also handed over to Armenia the body of the deceased country's citizen, reported Rafael Vardanyan, the chief for the Criminal Investigation Technique Department of the Investigating Committee of Armenia. The prisoners of war who have returned home from Azerbaijan today are men, "and there are both soldiers and civilians among them," the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.
