Protesters: Manukyan is the best candidate to replace Pashinyan
Vazgen Manukyan, whom the opposition wants to see as the Prime Minister of Armenia, has got the experience of heading the government and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) during the crisis. He is a suitable candidate to become the Prime Minister, participants of the protest actions in Yerevan claim.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 22, activists seeking the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the beginning of an indefinite protest action in front of the government building.
"I personally am not a supporter of Vazgen Manukyan. However, I am aware of one thing: Nikol Pashinyan must leave and leave my country and people alone," one of the protesters, Albert from Yerevan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Furthermore, the protestor continued: "At the same time, we cannot accept that someone from the former elite may take advantage of the situation and get the power. Neither Serzh Sargsyan, nor Robert Kocharyan, nor Nikol Pashinyan should lead the country. And Vazgen Manukyan is the most optimal candidate," the resident of Yerevan notes.
Pensioner Robert Zakaryan, a former road police inspector, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he does not miss a single opposition rally.
"I will come here until we win, until we achieve the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. Armenia needs a new leader with the crisis management skills. And Vazgen Manukyan is the politician who can lead the country out of the current crisis situation. He has got the appropriate experience," the pensioner told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
