Karabakh rescuers find over 1060 dead bodies
Over the past 24 hours, employees of the Karabakh Emergency Service removed the bodies of 14 Armenian military servicemen from the conflict zone; in total, 1061 dead have been found after the ceasefire.
"As a result of search and rescue operations, today (on December 22), the bodies of 14 dead Armenian servicemen were found in the areas of the Martuni, Gadrut, Djabrail, Fizuli and Shushi Districts, where the hostilities took place," Unan Tadevosyan, the head of the division for information and public relations of the Nagorno-Karabakh's State Service for Emergency Situations, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Mr Tadevosyan has added that the remains that cannot be identified are sent to Armenia for DNA analysis. "Relatives of the persons who disappeared in Armenia and Artsakh (the self-name of Nagorno-Karabakh) have already given their assays," he has noted. If the bodies can be identified, relatives are invited to the morgue; and it happens that there are documents on the bodies. "In both cases, the remains are handed over to their relatives," the source said.
According to the above service, from November 13 to December 22, rescuers found the bodies of 1061 dead Armenian military servicemen.
