Russian analysts: too early for people to return to Khin Takher and Khtsaberd

In fact, the villages of Khin Takher and Khtsaberd in the Hadrut District of Nagorno-Karabakh stay abandoned, military expert Alexander Golts notes. According to expert Vladimir Yevseev, it is too early and unsafe for people to return to the destroyed villages. The expert also adds that a "gray zone" should be created to prevent such incidents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 11, the first violation of the ceasefire regime after the end of the hostilities in Karabakh was registered. According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani forces attacked two Armenian villages in the Hadrut District, including Khtsaberd and Khin Takher (the Azerbaijani names are Chailakkala and In Takhlar, respectively, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"). Three Karabakh soldiers were injured.

Military expert Alexander Golts mentions the fact that Azerbaijan explained the incident by the decision to push terrorists out of its territory. Moreover, the media reported that the Armenian forces tried to take root in the Azerbaijani territory in the area of the villages of Khin Takher and Khtsaberd.

"Armenia believes that these are the lands of Nagorno-Karabakh. Before the map of the conflict area appeared on the website of the Ministry of Defence, Azerbaijan stated that the incident took place on its territory. The two villages of Khin Takher and Khtsaberd, deeply embedded in the territory under the control of Azerbaijan, became the place of clashes. At present, these villages are included in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers. To prevent such incidents, a 'gray zone' should be created," military expert Vladimir Yevseev stated.

According to him, no party to the conflict should enter the above-mentioned "gray zone."
