Azerbaijan and Armenia exchange lists of prisoners of war

The Armenian and Azerbaijani sides transferred the information about prisoners of war to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

"The process of final verification of the lists is underway," the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.

Information of relatives and the videos posted on the Internet suggest that 60 soldiers and about 40 civilians are still being kept in Azerbaijani as captives, reports Artak Beglaryan, Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the unofficial information, up to 150 Armenian soldiers may still be kept as captives in Azerbaijan, but the Azerbaijani authorities have confirmed only nine prisoners of war. Soldiers who are missed in action may be among the prisoners of war. The Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Civil Assembly compiled a list with 586 names of the soldiers missed in action. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) obliged Azerbaijan to provide the information concerning 19 prisoners of war.
