Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh reports about 100 Armenian prisoners of war

According to the information of relatives and the videos posted on the Internet, 60 soldiers and about 40 civilians are still being held in Azerbaijani as captives, reports Artak Beglaryan, Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Artak Beglaryan accused Azerbaijan of delaying the transfer of prisoners of war and the giving out of bodies of deceased soldiers. According to protesters, the authorities of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh fail to make enough efforts in the above direction.

According to the unofficial information, up to 150 Armenian soldiers can still be kept as captives in Azerbaijan, but Baku has confirmed only nine prisoners of war. By November 27, the Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Civil Assembly compiled a list with 586 names of the soldiers missed in action.

The General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan called fakes the most of the videos about the abuse of captured Armenian soldiers, but the Armenian side insists on the opposite.

The bodies of 655 Armenian soldiers were found at the places of the fighting, and they were given out to their relatives, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Nagorno-Karabakh reported.

Earlier, the Ombudsman of Nagorno-Karabakh has reported that in the period from November 13 to 21, in the course of an exchange with Azerbaijan, the Armenian side found and received about 350 bodies of deceased soldiers. Soldiers continue to perish after the cessation of the hostilities. So, on December 1, two Karabakh soldiers were killed during the demining of the territory.
