Ingushetia: refusal to initiate a case against those guilty of beating a lady-picketer in Politkivskaya's memory has been cancelled
Nurdin Doklaev, deputy public prosecutor of the city of Nazran, Republic of Ingushetia, has made a decision to cancel the ruling of Hussein Sakalov, investigator of the City prosecutor's office, on refusal to initiate a criminal case on application about beating Ms. Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, employee of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial," during dispersal on October 16 this year of a picket in memory Anna Politkovskaya in Nazran. The materials of the case have been returned to the investigator for additional examination, Magomed Gandaur-Egi, advocate of the applicant told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot."
We remind you that on October 16 this year, militiamen and "people in civilian clothes" violently dispersed a picket in memory of Anna Politkovskaya in Bazorkin Avenue in the centre of Nazran. Eight persons were detained: five employees of the HRC "Memorial," Magomed Mutsolgov, organizer of the action, Ruslan Maisigov, correspondent of the ITAR-TASS, and two occasional passers-by. During the dispersal, Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya, employee of the HRC "Memorial," was beaten, and doctors diagnosed her brain concussion and nose fracture.
