In Ingushetia, organizer of picket in Politkovskaya's memory mulcted 10 MMWs

A magistrate judge has fined Magomed Mutsolgov, head of the non-commercial public organization "Mashr," who organized on October 16 a picket in memory of journalist Anna Politkovskaya in the city of Nazran (Ingushetia).

Magistrate judge Leila Dakieva made an award, according to which Mutsolgov was accounted guilty of "breaching the order of organizing a picket" (Article 20, Part 2 of the RF Administrative Code), and was fined of 10 minimum monthly wages (MMWs). The defence is going to lodge an appeal to the Nazran District Court, the NEWSru.com reports.

Other members of non-commercial and human rights organizations of Ingushetia who figured in the case (employees of Grozny office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" Zarema and Zina Mukushevs and the workers of the "Memorial" in Nazran Zoya Muradova and Fatima Yandieva) were acquitted.

On October 16, militia and "persons in private clothes" dispersed, with application of violence, a picket in memory of Anna Politkovskaya in the centre of Nazran (Ingushetia).
