14 activists hold pickets to support journalist Abdulmumin Gadjiev

In Makhachkala, friends and colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev held a series of solo pickets with the demand to stop the criminal proceedings against him. The activists noticed an increase in the number of participants in the weekly protest action held in support of the journalist.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that every week, in Makhachkala, colleagues and friends of the arrested journalist hold actions with the demand to release him.

Since June 2019, Abdulmumin Gadjiev has been under arrest in a case on financing of terrorism. On September 9, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan left him in custody for other three months. Abdulmumin Gadjiev pleads not guilty.

Today, a series of the solo pickets has begun at 1:00 p.m. Moscow time and lasted for an hour. The protest action took place in Makhachkala at the intersection of Dakhadaev Street and Gamzatov Avenue, next to the complex of buildings for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the FSB Department for Dagestan. 14 people were directly involved in the protest action, and up to 20 people stayed with them at the place of the pickets, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Magomed Magomedov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the "Chernovik".

He drew particular attention to the fact that the number of participants has increased in comparison with the protest action held a week ago. The protesters took turns standing in the picket and replaced each other.
