Chechen Muftiate joins attacks on Tepsurkaev and Zakaev

In his video appeal, Salakh Mezhiev, the Mufti of Chechnya, has criticized Salman Tepsurkaev for "shameless conversations", and called Akhmed Zakaev, who stood up for Salman, "an outcast."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 10, Akhmed Zakaev, the head of the government of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria (banned in Russia), located outside Russia, reported the arrest of his brothers, sisters and nephews who live in Chechnya. He linked the arrest of his relatives with his statements in support of the 1ADAT Telegram Channel.

In Chechnya, the video, in which a naked man sits on a bottle, explaining that he is doing this as punishment for cooperating with the oppositional 1ADAT Telegram Channel, has caused huge resonance. The channel's authors are sure that the moderator of their chat, Salman Tepsurkaev, was kidnapped and publicly humiliated by law enforcers.

Salakh Mezhiev, the Mufti, has criticized Salman Tepsurkaev and Akhmed Zakaev. Mezhiev's video message was posted on September 12 on the YouTube channel of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company).

Speaking in the Chechen language, Salakh Mezhiev in an offensive manner described Salman Tepsurkaev, stating that he "told shameless things about other people's mothers, wives and sisters, spoke dirty language, said dirty things that no one in the world could even think of" (translated by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent).

"Our people caught him and took due payment from him (punished him). They defamed him as it was necessary," Mufti Mezhiev has stated.

He also criticized Akhmed Zakaev, who stood up for Tepsurkaev. "How can you talk about the Chechen people? Many years have passed since people from your teip (family clan) have disowned you. You are not from the teip; you are nothing," Mezhiev has stated addressing Zakaev.
