Armenian MoD reports death of severely wounded soldier
Today, Arthur Muradyan, a regular soldier, who was severely wounded on July 14 during the confrontation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, has died in a military hospital, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Armenia reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the situation on the border of the Tovuz District of Azerbaijan and the Tavush Region of Armenia escalated on July 12. The Azerbaijani side announced the death of 11 of its soldiers and one civilian, and wounding of four soldiers. Given the four killed and 20 wounded people on the Armenian side, the count of victims since the start of the aggravation on the border made 40 killed and wounded people.
On July 14, 19-year-old Private Arthur Muradyan was severely wounded at a combat outpost deployed in the Tavush direction. The soldier stayed in critical condition. Today, he has died in the military hospital. "Despite all the efforts of military doctors, they failed to save the soldier's life," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by the press service of the Armenian MoD.
Thus, the death toll from the Armenian side has reached five persons, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports today.
According to the Investigating Committee of Armenia, in the period from July 12 to 16, four Armenian soldiers were killed, and other 39 people were injured, including 36 soldiers, two policemen, and a civilian. By July 16, the Azerbaijani side reported about 13 killed people, including 12 soldiers and a civilian, and four wounded soldiers. In the period from July 17 to 22, there were no reports of new killed or wounded.
