Gulagu.net founder arrested in absentia after post about Chechen killers

A team of killers has arrived in Moscow from Grozny "to neutralize the remnants of the opposition," Vladimir Osechkin, the founder of the Gulagu.net project, stated one day before the court's decision to arrest him in absentia. Osechkin has linked his criminal prosecution with the attempts of special services to take control over his human rights project.

For over two months, Chechen authorities have been coordinating with Moscow the departure of a team there under command of a former prisoner, Vladimir Osechkin, the founder of the Gulagu.net project, wrote on the Facebook. "It is highly likely that this year something similar to Boris Nemtsov's murder may happen to the people most dangerous to the regime," he said, citing his project's sources.

Mr Osechkin has linked his arrest in absentia with special services' attempts to take control over Gulagu.net.

On July 3, the decision to arrest of Osechkin in absentia was made by a Moscow court. He is charged with a fraud committed by a group of persons or by causing significant damage.
