YouTube users compare Manas conflict to case of killed shepherds

A spontaneous gathering after a conflict in the village of Manas forced policemen to apologize, while a father of the Gasanguseinov shepherd brothers has been trying to draw the authorities' attention to the killing of his sons for more than three years. This conclusion was made by YouTube users who watched a video on the Ruslan Kurbanov's channel on YouTube.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 9, residents of the Karabudakhkent District gathered at the "Kavkaz" federal highway near the village of Manas after the police had detained two residents of the Gurbuki village with the use of force. Later, the policemen apologized for the ill-treatment of the detainees.

The video about the conflict in Manas was posted on the YouTube channel by Ruslan Kurbanov, a Dagestani journalist and political analyst.

In their comments left under the video, YouTube users argued concerning the degree of guilt of the parties to the conflict, while several users mentioned a story of the killed Gasanguseinov brothers. "And why Dagestanis will not help the father of two sons, killed by law enforcers who imitated the liquidation of militants? Why does the father have to hold solo pickets for several years already? ... Where are you, advocates of justice and Caucasian honour?" wrote, in particular, user Nuria Alieva.

A similar opinion was expressed by user Sabir Kh. "The authorities have to take into account the opinion of the people when they are united and organized. Otherwise, no one would ever apologize. For example, we should remember the story of the father of the Gasanguseinov brothers. He is being ignored by the authorities just because he is alone and no organized power of the people stands behind him," the user wrote.

Starting from November 14, 2019, Murtazali Gasanguseinov, a father of the killed brothers, have been holding pickets with the demand to bring to justice the law enforcer, who earlier reported on the killing of his sons.

17-year-old and 19-year-old Nabi and Gasangusein Gasanguseinov were killed during a special operation carried out on August 23, 2016. The law enforcement bodies declared them militants, but fellow villagers did not agree with the allegation.
