In Chechnya, entrepreneurs alerted by conditions for quarantine mitigation

Small shops, petrol stations, and car service stations will be opened providing for compliance with security measures, announces Ramzan Kadyrov. The leader of Chechnya has threatened to seize the property of violators. Local businessmen believe it is risky to resume activities in such conditions.

On Monday, April 27, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that a quarantine mitigation plan was expected to be developed this week.

"The headquarters is to develop an action plan to decide what and when will be open <...>, to develop procedures, how they should behave and do their job, while complying with the requirements of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision)," said the leader of Chechnya as translated from the Chechen language by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Ramzan Kadyrov has threatened that property will be confiscated from entrepreneurs for violation of security measures. "If they do not comply with [the set-up security measures], then we will not only close their businesses, [but we will also] seize all their property. These are not jokes, since it deals with people's lives <...>. Therefore, this should not be treated with negligence," the leader of Chechnya stated.

The above statement voiced by Ramzan Kadyrov alerted local entrepreneurs. "I watched a report in the yesterday's news, in which Ramzan [Kadyrov] talked about the gradual lifting of the quarantine measures. It turns out this way: you can start working, but if we decide that you have violated something, then we will seize all your property. For me, it's better to wait, until all the quarantine restrictions are completely lifted, and resume work then. We will face less trouble then," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by local businessman Khamid.
