Grozny residents report difficulties due to blocked streets
Because of repairs of underground utilities, several streets in central Grozny are blocked. It has become more difficult for people in quarantine to make purchases within the time allotted by the authorities, residents of Grozny complained.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 13, people are forbidden to leave their homes without special permits. Besides, each family is allowed to make shopping only for six hours a week.
Because of replacement of utility networks, the traffic in a section of N. Nazarbaev Street was blocked, the Grozny Mayoralty has announced.
"We are allowed to drive somewhere only for two hours three times a week, but the road is closed. We have to go on foot to the next street and take a taxi," a local resident named Ibragim has complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"People have to walk to shops and pharmacies, although it's easier to drive there; and it takes less time and unnecessary expenses," another local named Movsar told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
A woman from Grozny named Kheda has faced a similar problem. "They've blocked a section of our street, so, we can't drive ... Now, we have to walk for several blocks to buy foodstuffs," she told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
