Four new suspects arrested in case on Magas rally

On February 5, the Nalchik City Court pronounced a decision to detain four alleged participants of clashes with law enforcers at a rally in Magas. Information about the new detentions came as a surprise to residents of Ingushetia, notes advocate Magomed Bekov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, searches were conducted in the villages of Ingushetia and North Ossetia within the investigation into a case on participation in a rally in Magas, and at least six persons were detained.

Four persons detained on February 4 were suspected of using violence against a public officer, advocate Khusen Guliev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "At the trial, I represented the interests of 24-year-old Amirkhan Bekov and Isropil Nalgiev, born in 1990. Meanwhile, two more trials were going on in the court, including in the cases of Mukharbek Mamatov and Barkhanoev. The Nalchik City Court pronounced against all the above defendants the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of two months of detention in custody," said advocate Khusen Guliev.

Residents of Ingushetia were shocked by the information about new detentions, advocate Magomed Bekov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Several days ago, Ingush leader Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov held a press conference at which he said that the arrested Ingush activists would return home soon. He reassured people a little. And then a new wave of detentions began. Of course, everyone was shocked," Magomed Bekov said.
