Sautieva complains about absence of medical care in Nalchik SIZO
The Ingush activist, Zarifa Sautieva, has complained to her advocate that she cannot receive a dentist's examined at the Nalchik SIZO (pre-trial prison) after a night with a toothache.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 30, the Stavropol Territorial Court refused to satisfy Zarifa Sautieva's appeal against the extension of her arrest until March 11, 2020.
Zarifa Sautieva has been kept under arrest since July 15; she is charged with complicity in using violence against law enforcers in Magas. Zarifa Sautieva has become the first Ingush woman arrested for political reasons.
On December 30, at the session of the above court, where the extension of her custody term was considered, Zarifa Sautieva complained, in a talk with her advocate, Bilan Dzugaev, about her toothache and impossibility to receive a dentist's medical care at the Nalchik SIZO. "I had a toothache all night, and I tried to get a dentist's examination, but I couldn't," said Zarifa Sautieva.
On December 30, in her speech to the court, Zarifa Sautieva stated that in September and November, there were no investigative actions with her participation. "What prevented investigators from acquainting me with examinations? They use same phrases to justified charges against me and 70-year-old persons, and 20-year-old young men. According to investigators, we all spoke and did the same things," Ms Sautieva told the court.
She was also surprised at the severity of the charges against her. "What such severe charge is based on, I can't understand. I was under stress at the rally; and I asked people not to violate the order. I'm kept here for no reason,' she has stressed.
