Commander of Kadyrov regiment ranks all offenders as "traitors"

Zamid Chalaev, the commander of the Chechen patrol-and-post service (PPS) regiment named after Akhmat Kadyrov, has explained to his subordinates that all the offenders should be treated as "traitors."

A video clip with the speech of the police boss addressed to the personnel of his regiment was posted on the website of the "Grozny Inform" News Agency under the title "Zamid Chalaev holds drill inspection of his personnel" and on the Agency's channel in the YouTube.

"... I tell you to understand: he uses pills [narcotic drugs] – he is a traitor; he drinks alcohol – he is a traitor; he does what our padishah [Ramzan Kadyrov] has forbidden – he is a traitor. He is a traitor to us, and we'll punish him as a traitor. He has stuck a film [a tinted film on his car windows] and drives the car – he is a traitor; he exceeds the speed limit – he is a traitor; he is shooting at a wedding party – he is a traitor. These people are traitors to us ...," Chalaev said in the video clip in the Chechen language after a greeting, while addressing his subordinates. His speech was translated into Russian by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Local residents have treated the speech of the police boss as indicative and dangerous.

"I've watched on the YouTube the performance of the new commander of 'Kadyrov's Special Forces' addressed to his subordinates. Not everything can be understood there, the sound quality is poor, but, nevertheless, the main points are clear: any offender is a traitor. An employee should not only be 'on Akhmat-Hadji way' himself, but all his close relatives, too, plus the padishah's word is a law. And what can be expected from law enforcers, who've received such a commander's instruction?" Abubakar, a local resident, has asked.
