Six suspects detained in case on Ibragim Eldjarkiev's murder

In Moscow and Ingushetia, six persons have been detained in a case on the murder of Ibragim Eldjarkiev, the chief of the Ingush Centre for Combating Extremism (CCE, also known as Centre "E"). Entrepreneur Khasan Polonkoev, one of the detainees, led the grouping involved in the murder, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) suggests.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 27, it became known that the Basmanny Court of Moscow pronounced the decision to arrest Gelani Kostoev and Akhmed Arapiev, who were accused of involvement in the murder of Ibragim Eldjarkiev. According to investigators, one of the Ingush natives arrested in Moscow was driving a car in which a killer of Ibragim Eldjarkiev fled the scene of the attack, while the second suspect got weapons for the killer, who allegedly escaped to Chechnya, and from there to Turkey, sources reported.

Ibragim Eldjarkiev was shot dead in Moscow on November 2. His brother Akhmed Eldjarkiev, a doctor at a Moscow hospital, also fell victim to the attack. According to sources, the murder of Ibragim Eldjarkiev could be a result of blood feud amid his conflict with members of the Batal-Khadji community, one of which leaders, Ibragim Belkharoev, was killed in 2018.

Today, the ICRF has reported about the detention of Khasan Polonkoev, the leader of the grouping, and five other men suspected of attacking on January 12 and assassinating on November 2 Ibragim Eldjarkiev, the chief of the Ingush CCE.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported about a search at the intersection of Kartoev and Esmurziev Streets in Nazran, which are allegedly related to the Belkhoroev family, members of the Batal-Khadji community. Law enforcers conducted searches at the houses of Mustafa Belkharoev, the chairman of the Ingush Chamber of Control and Accounts in Nazran, as well as in the house of entrepreneur Khasan Polonkoev in the village of Surkhakhi, the TASS reports today with reference to a source from the law enforcement bodies.

The searches at the houses of Khasan Polonkoev and Mustafa Belkharoev are related to the case on the murder of the Eldjarkiev brothers, the "Interfax" reports today with reference to its source.
