Supporters of European integration come to protest actions in Tbilisi and Batumi

Participants of a protest action against the suspension of Georgia’s European integration blocked traffic near the Georgian parliament. Supporters of European integration also held a protest action in Batumi.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in Tbilisi, protesters celebrated the New Year holiday at festive tables set up in front of the parliament building. On the 35th day of protests against the suspension of Georgia’s European integration, the protesters gathered in the evening in front of the Georgian parliament and blocked traffic on Rustaveli Avenue.

Participants of the protest actions in Georgia went to the Georgian parliament building and blocked traffic. The protestors declare that they will not accept a change in the country’s course and believe that their future is in Europe, the “Pirveli” TV Company reports.

The protesters are celebrating the Bedoba day – the day of fate – together. It is believed in Georgia that how a person spends this day will determine the next year for him or for her, the “Formula” TV Company reports.

Political analyst Khatuna Lagazidze expressed her hope for a change in the country’s political course. “The main thing that the previous months have revealed to us is an amazing energy. We understand each other without words ... Now is the time to turn this energy into victory,” the political analyst stated.

At a protest action, Nika Meliya, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change”, emphasized that it is important for the people to remember the deeds of MPs from the “Georgian Dream” Party. “This struggle and this protest, which sets the agenda in this country, solves a number of economic, social, and geopolitical problems. The main achievement of this process is the return of faith for the society,” Nika Meliya noted as quoted by the “Mtavari Arkhi” TV Company.
