Chechen authorities allocate 6 million roubles for New Year's corporate party for officials

A New Year's concert with the engagement of celebrities and a dinner for 600 guests with the participation of Ramzan Kadyrov will cost the budget of Chechnya 6 million roubles.

The event for "the needs of the administration of the leader and the government of Chechnya" is to be held between December 24 and 31, 2019. The programme includes a concert, a "protocol part" with the participation of the leader of the Chechen republic, and a festive dinner.

In December 2018, residents of Grozny reported that public sector employees had to participate in raising money for New Year's gifts for children as part of a charity action organized by a Ramzan Kadyrov's daughter.

In Chechnya, all public sector employees are required to transfer about 10% of their income to charity every month. Among other things, the money goes to cover extremely high fees of celebrities and organize MMA tournaments.

It should be noted that on the eve of the New Year holidays, residents of Chechnya periodically resume a discussion concerning the statement that the celebration of the New Year holiday contradicts the canons of Islam.
